Ricky Davis, who last played in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2010, has returned to the United States.

Davis, 32, signed with the NBDL’s Maine Red Claws on Wednesday, according to a team release. The 6-7 swingman had played in Turkey, China and France since the Clippers waived him in March 2010.

A career 13.9 ppg scorer, Davis bounced around in the NBA; he played for six teams, including the Heat twice, and averaged a career-best 20.6 points for the Cavaliers in their final pre-LeBron James season.

Regardless of whether he makes it back to the NBA, Davis will likely be remembered best for, on March 16, 2003, deliberately shooting the ball at his team’s own basket in an effort to grab his first career triple-double.
